Hi everyone! I'm Andrea Spillett and this is my 14th year of teaching and it just keeps getting better and better. I teach kindergarten at a darling school in Southern California. My specialty is Second Language Acquisition. Teaching English language learners have been my focus for the last 9 years of my teaching career. I have also taught the CLAD(cross language academic development) course at California State University, Fullerton. It has been such a pleasure to teach new teachers how to work with students whose first language is not English. I hope that you and your students will find the ELD strategies that I am posting in the blog valuable and helpful. If you need any clarification on any blog that I have posted, please let me know!

Wish List!!!
I send out a wish list to request items that are needed for special projects and events. This is the wish list that I request for the 100th Day of School! Next to the wish list I include what we will be using the item for. Wish List for the 100th Day of Kindergarten fruit rings or fruit loops (we will use the fruit rings/loops to make a pattern necklace) The 100th Day of School Snack (we will be counting 10 of each item to create a snack with 100 items in it!) mini candy hearts M&M's whoppers (malt balls) chow mein noodles stick pretzels goldfish crackers cherrios peanuts chocolate chips mini marshmallows $2.00 voluntary donation (for pizza with 100 pieces of pepperoni on the side!!!) Extra parent help would be terrific to have on the 100th day of school! Please let me know if you can assist at a center on our 100th Day of School celebration.
