WE DO WATCH SHOWS TOGETHER. SOMETIMES I PREVIEW THE SHOW BY DVRing IT THEN I KNOW IF IT'S AGE APPROPRIATE. SOME OF OUR FAVORITES ARE AFV, WIPE OUT, CAKE CHALLENGES AND OF COURSE DISNEY AND PIXAR MOVIES. THE KIDS USUALLY CONTINUE THE FUN BY PLAYING WITH THEIR MOVIE CHARACTER TOYS. MY SON IS 8.10 AND MY DAUGHTER TURNS 7 IN  2 WEEKS.

Yes! My family and I watch TV together all the time. Almost each day of the week, there's a favorite show we all enjoy. It helps calm us all down after a long day - it also helps calm the kids down when they are constantly at each other's throat. On days when we aren't interested in any one show, we'll rent a movie. Other than sports and other activities, this brings us together as a family (even if it's only for a few minutes).

It's the only show we watch together but every Tuesday--come H-E-double toothpick--my four kids, my husband and I gather for American Idol. Somehow the show bridges the age gap between my children who are 6, 7, 10 and 12. We have fun critique the performers and placing bets on who will be eliminated. so much is written about TV and it's ability to disrupt relationships but I have to say this is one show that brings our family together. Does your family watch Idol or another show together?
