Please comment!  I'd love to know what you think.

The Bookworm’s Woe

Once I happened upon a room

a magical room

filled with objects of great power,

greater than I could imagine.

My curiosity overcame me,

expecting the best,

I took an object from the wall,

and I opened the cover,

and I began to read.

If only I could have known better!

For those words were not words, but spells

that began to weave themselves

into the threads of my mind,

the yarns of my life;

And while those words

have set me free

to explore worlds unimagined

to witness creations unfurl

to travel lands unknown:

while by them I am free

to explore more worlds than the mind can conceive of;

the words, layers and layers of them, have built walls

so as to trap me

in a place from which I may never go free

And so am I cursed,

with the Bookworm’s Woe,

by words and pages and printer’s ink

never to escape

these marvelous worlds

that I may never see.

Dare you follow?
