"Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why would that mean it's not real?" - Albus Dumbledore

Of course, there's a whole bunch of funny quotes that I like, but that's the one that makes me think.

I love this one. the scene is in OOTP, where Harry is having his career meeting with McGonagall, and Umbridge keeps coughing and trying to interrupt.

"These are old man shoes!"

"Excuse me?"

"I love them...a lot."

-The Sorcerer's Apprentice

"Have fun eating your rope."

~Fablehaven

GRRRR!!!! I can't change my font!:smileymad: Anyways, I've seen that movie, (I just can't find a copy of the book to read) it's like my favorite quote from it! I have read the majority of the Fablehaven series as well! (can't get a copy of Secrets of the Dragon Sanctuary either! grrr!) Seriously, read them! Another really good series is the Septimus Heap series. It's not as good as Harry Potter, but nearly as captivating. (Sorry! I ramble when I talk about books!)

I think the movies are a little cheesy, but the books might be good...I've read this other, lesser-known book (Also by Stephanie Meyer) called The Host. It...Was...AWESOME!!!:smileysurprised::smileyindifferent:

It's a good idea, but it was poorly written. Stephenie Meyer's English is horrible, especially when compared to that of J.K. Rowling.

When Harry opened the golden egg in the Goblet of Fire, Ron says:
"It sounds like Percy singing. You don't think this will involve him in the shower, do you?"
I know I didn't get the second sentence right, but it was something like that.

and

"Sings a different [song] every year. It's got to be a pretty boring life, hasn't it, being a hat?"
-Ron

and

"Why does it always happen to ME?"
-Neville

I like the part in one of the books(I can't remember which one) where Harry and Ron are in Divination and they are supposed to be finding out what their dreams mean, and Ron goes,"I had one that I was playing Quiddich. What do you think that means?" and Harry replies, "I dunno. Probably you're going to be eaten by a giant marshmallow or something."

Either this one

Ron says "Why spiders, why couldn't it be follow the butterflies?"

or

Dudley says "They stuff people's heads down toilets the first day at Stonewell. Want to come upstairs and practice." Harry says "No thanks, the toilets never had anything as horrible as your head down it. It might be sick.

But he understood at last what Dumbledore had been trying to tell him. It was, he thought, the difference between being dragged into the arena to face a battle to the death and walking into the arena with your head held high. Some people, perhaps, would say that there was little to choose between the two ways, but Dumbledore knew – and so do I, thought Harry, with a rush of fierce pride, and so did my parents – that there was all the difference in the world.”

There is just far to many to choose from, but I really like those moments where Harry (No offense!) sounds really kind of stupid. Like when they use the Time Turner... "This is not normal!" That has to be in my top 10 but I also like Dobby's lines. "Dobby didn't mean to kill, he only meant to mame or seriously injure." Donutelf2/Brilliantviolet5's sister. "It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but a great deal more to stand up to our friends." Albus Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (book 1)

You can see this quote in my signature! :D I like it because of what it says and the meaning: You are always loyal to your true friends, so you don't like to defy them. Also, by saying "our" for both friends and enemies, he says that they are all as one and should work together evermore.

I love the whole series...every quote, character and word. But as the most favorite one goes here something like this : " As Hagrid had said, what has to come will come, and we must face it when it does. "-- last lines in HP and the Goblet of Fire. Really interesting and thought-provoking--we mustn't worry about the future, just be prepared for it, because its destined to happen, and we are going to face it whatever.

I've read the Harry Potter books, but I'm not sure if my favorite Harry Potter quote was in the books and the movies. I think my favorite Harry Potter quote was, " The spiders want me to tap dance! I don't wanna tap dance!" - Ron from the Prisoner of Azkaban. if i had to pick a quote i liked that I'm 90% sure is in the harry potter books is "It takes a great deal of courage to stand up to your enemies, but an even greater deal of courage to stand up to your friends." - Albus Dumbledore from Harry potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

in the sixth movie: Ron: What do you suppose Dean sees in Ginny? Harry: Well, you know... she's smart, funny... attractive. Ron: Attractive? Harry: You know- she has nice skin. Ron: You're saying Dean likes my sister 'cause of her skin. Harry: I'm just saying it might be a contributing factor. Ron: Hermione has nice skin.

This isn't exactly a quote as much as a few sentences from the book. "The elf's eyes found him, and his lips trembled with the effort to form words. 'Harry... Potter...' And then with a little shudder, the elf became quite still, and his eyes were nothing more than great glassy orbs, sprinkled with light from the stars they could not see." -The Deathly Hallows,Chpt 23- Malfoy Manor, pg. 476, Paragraphs 2-5.

I love it when Ron, Hermione, and Harry are talking too Aberforth in Deathly Hallows and Ron says "Is your Patronus a doe?" and Aberforth answers, " Brains like that, you could be a Death Eater. Haven't I just proven my Patronus is a Goat?" Well, I think it's funny.

In Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone book: Harry: Sir, what do you see when you look in the mirror? Dumbledore: I? I see myself holding a pair of thick, woolen socks. Love it so much!! In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix film: Hermione: Don't you understand how she must be feeling? Well, obviously she's feeling sad about Cedric, and therefore confused about liking Harry, guilty about kissing him, conflicted because Umbridge is pressing to sack her mum from the Ministry, and frightened about failing her OWLs because she's so busy worrying about everything else. Ron: One person can't feel all that at once! They'd explode! Hermione: Just because you've got the emotional range of a teaspoon!

This is my fave quote:

From the tip of his wand burst the silver doe: she landed on the office floor, bounded once across the office and soared out of the window. Dumbledore watched her fly away, and as her silvery glow faded he turned back to Snape, and his eyes were full of tears.

'After all this time?'

'Always.'

"If the richest and happiest man on earth looked in the mirror, ho would only see him self just the way he is.''
-Dumbeldoor  sorcerers stone

Just wanted to say that this post isn't really true because it's the richEST and happIEST man ON EARTH. So if per say the earth's people were suffering a famine and didn't have a lot of food or clothing, they would not be very happy or rich. Therefore the happiest person still would not be very happy, and would see himself with plenty if food to feed himself and his family, which isn't nothing.

Does anyone else get what I'm saying?

Anyways, one of my favorite quotes is when Snape asks Harry what the difference between an Inferi and a ghost was and harry says, "Ghosts are transparent" and then snape explains how that is not completely right that inferi were bodies of people controled by wizards and blah blah.   Then ron says that what Harry said waa more helpful because if ha encountered an inferi or ghost he wouldn't be asking them if they were a dead body or whatever.

That wasn't entirely hiw it went but you get the gist.
