A book that I read and finished just yesterday is Philippa Fisher's Fairy Godsister.
The author of this book is Liz Kessler, who also wrote the New York Times best selling series of Emily Windsnap.

The "Philippa Fisher" books are a series, but not as much as the Magic Treehouse Books. It's the same as the Emily Windsnap series, four books currently.

What I liked about the book was that it had so much feeling to it. So much detail was added and it was very exciting. It involves fictional, fantasy events, but realistic scenes. When I read the book, each chapter brought me more and more at the edge of my seat, just about to fall down.

I recommend this book to girls ages 9 and up. The detail of the story can be confusing for younger girls, so I chose 9 and up. Very amazing, flowing, exciting, and best of all, FANTASY!

Book: I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You
Author: Ally Carter
Is this book in a series? Which one? Yes, The Gallagher Girls
What you liked about the book (no spoilers please): The way the author writes adds a lot of humor to the book! It had a lot of action in it (because the main character goes to a school for spies) and romance. Many things in this book are about friendship, love, and spies... this is a book all girls will love!

I have two good books!
Book: Uglies
Author: Scott Westerfeld
Is this book in a series? Which one? the Uglies series
What you liked about the book (no spoilers please): Well, it's about this world where everyone gets an operation to turn "pretty" when they turn sixteen, and the whole futuristic thing (hovercars! hoverboards! and a lesson for us current people, "the Rusties.")
Recommended Age of Reader: um...12 to 16 (basically the ages of the Uglies)
Rating (1 is low, 5 is high): five!
P.S. the book Specials has cursing in it. They just say they're going to rescue someone, because they're his bad-donkey friends. Only, they don't say donkey...Also, it's a little violent.. And in Specials, they're addicted to cutting and sometimes burning themselves...yeeeeeaaaahhhh...

Book: the Mysterious Benedict Society
Author: Trenton Lee Stewart
Is this book in a series? Which one? It's in the Mysterious Benedict Society series
What you liked about the book (no spoilers please): I like how it's about these four kids who save the world. Because this guy has a machine that can tell you to trust him and his evil school...and the messages are broadcasted into your head.
Recommended Age of Reader: 12 and under
Rating (1 is low, 5 is high): 5

Hey! I love reading, and I'd recommend most of my bookshelf, but since that'd be messy, I'll just recommend a few...

Book: Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief
Author:
Rick Riordan
Is this book in a series? Which one?
YES!! Percy Jackson and The Olympians (by the way, I'm just recommending the first book here, but all of them are awesome) (also, if you haven't read these, you're missing out on what is second best to Harry Potter!)
What you liked about the book (no spoilers please):
It was extremely funny, full of action, well thought out and makes you crave for more.
Recommended Age of Reader:
err, I'd say 8+, but the 8 year old must be quite mature.
Rating (1 is low, 5 is high):
5!!
P.S. Even if I recommended for 8 year olds, older people please do not let that put you off, these books are for all ages. (over 8 of course)

Book:
The Hunger Games
Author:
Suzanne Collins
Is this book in a series? Which one?
Yes, the series is called The Hunger Games trilogy
What you liked about the book (no spoilers please):
This book makes you laugh and cry at the same time, and most of all, it keeps you up at night thinking and thinking. (and it ties for second place with Percy Jackson behind Harry Potter!)
Recommended Age of Reader:
Well, this is a hard one... See, scholastic says that it's for ages 12 and up, but since I read this book when I had just turned 11 and I wasn't traumatised, I don't know... but if you're under 12 and want to read it, beware : it gets kinda violent and depressive. (though that doesn't make that book bad at all!!) (please read it! it'll be one of the best books you've ever read)
Rating (1 is low, 5 is high):
5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. I recommended this book series to half of my 6th grade class-- boys and girls -- and they all LOVED it!!

Book: The Mysterious Benedict society
Author: Trenton Lee Stewart
Is this book in a series? Which one?Yes, The Mysterious Benedict Society trilogy
What you liked about the book (no spoilers please): Secret Agenty, but not in an Alex Rider or CHERUB way, this book is a huge page turner.
Recommended Age of Reader: 10-12 Year olds will love it, but if you're older than 12, it's fine too.
Rating (1 is low, 5 is high): 4.9999999999 Not my favourite kind of book, since I'm more into fantasy, but the best in this category yet.
P.S. Even those who like The Clique, Gossip Girl or I don't know what, give this a try, because it isn't that boring.

Book: It's a whole series : DEAR DUMB DIARY
Author: Jamie Kelly, nah, kidding, it's actually  Jim Benton
Is this book in a series? Which one? DEAR DUMB DIARY
What you liked about the book (no spoilers please): Soooo FUNNY!! And they're loads of smart twists.
Recommended Age of Reader: 9+ Even my mom likes it!!!
Rating (1 is low, 5 is high): 4 It's not action packed, but it's really satisfying
P.S. You won't regret buying this, because you'll be howling with laughter after a few pages!!

Soo, I hope that I would have helped you make your mind about buying these books, because they are definately WORTH IT! By the way, I didn't put The Potter books in, because about everybody on earth knows about them (if you're not from earth, I'm sorry) and if they've got a good mind on their shoulders, they'll buy them.
-Miniartemis
P.S. I also recommend The Incorrigible Children From Ashton Place (probably a mature 10 and up)

Book: A Mango-Shaped Space
Author: Wendy Mass
It is not a series of books. It's a "stand alone."
I liked the book because it talked a lot about Mia's condition, synesthesia, and all the colors she sees. It made me wish I had synesthesia, too.
Recommended age of reader: middle-school aged (10 to 14)
Rating: 4

Book: I Shall Wear Midnight
Author: Terry Pratchett
Is this book in a series? Which one? It's in the Tiffany Aching Adventures series, and it's the fourth and last book
What you liked about the book (no spoilers please): You can really get into the character's head. It's somewhat dark, but comic relief is thrown in the exact right times.
Recommended Age of Reader: At least 12, but for the previous books in the series, I don't think you have to be older than 9 or 10
Rating (1 is low, 5 is high): 5

Book: The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents
Author: Terry Pratchett
Is this book in a series? Which one? No
What you liked about the book (no spoilers please):It's HILARIOUS, especially Maurice's conscience. It's a take-off on the Pied Piper of Hamelin, but it throws in a cat with a plot...and Malicia is AMAZING.
Recommended Age of Reader: To fully enjoy and understand it, I'd say that you have to be 12 or 13, but if you just want to read it, I'd say around 11.
Rating (1 is low, 5 is high): 5

I'll do more later.

Suggestions:
Book: City of Bones
Author: Cassandra Clare
Series: Yes, the Mortal Instruments series which I also recommend.
What I liked about the book: It combines angels, demons, witches, warlocks, faeries, vampires, werewolves and shadow hunters all in one! In a smooth way too.
Age: 14 up. I read it when I was 11 but I could handle violence and things like that so yeah if you're mature enough to handle well described killings of monsters than you can read it.
Rating: 4.9999 x infinity (Great and all but with the HUGE twist at the end it made things worse for Clary and Jace.)
Genre: Fantasy, Adventure
Summary:It’s after dark in New York City, and Clary Fray is seeing things. The best-looking guy in the nightclub has just stabbed a boy to death – but the victim has vanished into thin air. Her mother has disappeared, and a hideous monster is lurking in her apartment.

With her life spiralling into darkness, Clary realizes that she has stumbled into an invisible war between ancient demonic forces and secretive Shadowhunters – a war in which she has a fateful role to play…

(A dark Summary there... I COPIED AND PASTED ALL of the summaries because I'm too lazy to write my own.)

Book: Only the Good Spy Young

Author: Ally Carter

Series: Yes, Gallagher Girls (Read others before you read this one.)

What I like about the book: I just like it okay!

Age: 10 up.

Rating: 5 x infinity

Genre: Spy, Romance, Mystery

Summary:When Cammie Morgan enrolled at the Gallagher Academy, she knew she was preparing for the dangerous life of a spy. What she didn’t know was that the serious, real-life danger would start during her junior year of high school. But that’s exactly what happened two months ago when she faced off against an ancient terrorist organization dead set on kidnapping her.

Now the danger follows her everywhere and even Cammie “The Chameleon” can’t hide. When a terrifying encounter in London reveals that one of her most-trusted allies is actually a rogue double-agent Cammie no longer knows if she can trust her classmates, her teachers—or even her own heart.
Book: Princess Academy

Author: Shannon Hale

Series: No. Sadly.

What I like about the book: This Might be a spoiler but I'm doing it anyways. This story is not just another story of the main protagnist falling in love with a handsome prince. It's more of a friendship and home culture kind of book. It tells you of the story about how knowing where you live can be a great advantage in life. Friendship with a tinge of Romance.

Recommended age: 10 and up or if you're relatively smart and have good understanding in things. I read it when I was 9 but I understood more when I reread it when I was 10.

Rating: 5 x infinity

Genre: Friendship, Romance, Adventure

Summary:(Well Detailed one at that)Miri is a fourteen-year-old girl from Mt. Eskel, a far away province of Danland, who has never been allowed to work with the rest of the villagers (young and old, men and women) in the quarry that keeps the community alive. Because of this, she feels like an outcast in the community and feels cut off from the culture that is largely formed by their working life in the quarry. But what she doesn't know is that the reason that her dad doesn't allow her to go into the quarry is because her mom died while she was working in the quarry. As the quarry can barely cut enough Linder(main export) for each year, Miri constantly tries to help. Despite this, she is very close to her father and her sister. Peder is Miri's best friend and newly found crush.

One day, a messenger from the king arrives along with the traders from the lowlands. The messenger announces that the nation's priests have informed the nation that the next princess will come from Mt. Eskel, despite the lack of education provided for the villagers and despite the prejudice that exists between the mountain villagers and the lowlanders. To this end, a princess academy is going to be set up near the village to train the young girls in the ways of the lowland noblemen and noblewomen. At the end of the year, the prince will visit the academy and choose the girl to be the next princess. Miri, of course, attends the academy, and though the academy is difficult because of the strict teacher Ms. Olana, Miri excels at learning and commerce, her knowledge even helping the village to prosper in trading with the lowlanders. The situation also causes developments in her relationships with the other village girls, particularly Britta who is an outsider also. She must also learn a new appreciation of her culture in order to succeed.

Eventually, bandits appear and as the prince arrives, Miri is forced to contemplate the complex feelings she has about her culture, her friends and feelings for one of them, her beliefs and her feeling of the life she's always known.

Book series I recommend: THe ones listed above and Heroes of Olympus, The Kane Chronicles, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Artemis Fowl, Harry Potter, The Hunger Games.

Author(s) In order: Rick Riordan, Eion Colfer, J.K. Rowling, Suzanne Collins.

What I like about the books: Rick Riordan books: Great stories to read with adventure and fantasy, while learning mythology.  Rate: 5x infinity.

Artemis Fowl: Fantasy things that I like. Rating: 3.5 x infinity.

Harry Potter: Everyone's got to love magic right?

The Hunger Games: Very interesting plot.:smileywink: Rate: 4.999x infinity

Recommended age for all books: Hmm... maybe about 9 and up.

I am not taking time and putting all the Summaries here. These books are well known anyways.

If you want a romantic princess book then here's one. It's also set in Ella Enchanted's world.

Book: Fairest

Author: Gail Carson Levine

Series: Nope.

What I like about the book: Has a moral, in Ella Enchanted, happy ending and new race I learned about.

Age: 10 and up.

Rating: 4.5 x infinity

Genre: Romance, Fairytale

Summary:I was born singing. Most babies cry. I sang an aria. Or so I believe. I have no one to tell me the truth of it. I was abandoned when I was a month old, left at the Featherbed Inn in the Ayorthaian villiage of Amonta. It was January 12th of the year of Thunder Songs.

The Fairy Lucinda has once again given a dreadful gift. THis time it's a mysterious magical mirror. The gift is disastrous when it falls into the hands of Aza, who never looks in a mirror if she can help it. In the Kingdom of Ayortha, Aza is most definitely not the fairest of them all. Many spurn her. Many scoff at her. She keeps out of sight.

But in the land of singers, Aza has her own gift, one she's come by without fairy intervention: a voice that can do almost anything, a voice that captivates all who hear it. In Ontio Castle, merry Prince Ijori is drawn to it, and vain Queen Ivi wants to use it for her own ends. Queen Ivi would do anything to remain the fairest in the land.

In this spellbinding tale filled with humor, adventure, romance, and song, Newbery Honor author Gail Carson Leine invites you to join Aza as she discovers how exquisite she truly is.

That's all I can think of now. So I hope this helped.:smileyhappy::robothappy:

Book: The Lighting Thief
Author: Rick Riordan
Is this book in a series? Which one? Yep,Percy Jackson and the Olimpians
What you liked about the book (no spoilers please): That, when you thought it was over something happened and made me want to flip the page (that's how I call it, a page-flipper because you can't stop turning pages). Also when I finished a chapter, and said: okay, now time to sleep. I thought, one more chapter won't kill anyone... :P

Book: The Unknowns
Author: Benedict Carey
Is this book in a series? Which one? Nope
What you liked about the book (no spoilers please): Long story short, it's amazing. It has believable characters who aren't perfect
Recommended Age of Reader: Anybody who can handle violence, isn't offended by mild swearing, and understands math. Yes, I just said "understands math" for a book. Read it. You'll see.
Rating (1 is low, 5 is high): 4.5 - it's too short!

Book: Pies & Prejudice
Author: Heather Vogel Frederick
Is this book in a series? Which one? 4th book in Mother-Daughter Book Club series
What you liked about the book (no spoilers please): The plot and characters are well thought-out. And it's REALLY funny.
Recommended Age of Reader: Don't really think this one has an age requirement. If it was a movie, it would almost definitely be rated G
Rating (1 is low, 5 is high): 4

Book: The Warlock
Author: Michael Scott
Is this book in a series? Which one? 5th book in The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel
What you liked about the book (no spoilers please): It's amazing. Too many good things to list. But I do like how it uses historical figures and makes them so...I don't know...real. When you read about them in a history book, they just don't seem that way. My favorites are Billy the Kid, Niccolo Machiavelli, and Virginia Dare.
Recommended Age of Reader: I read the first book when I was 10, but on average, I'd say 12+ for some violence, some scary stuff, and really complex ideas
Rating (1 is low, 5 is high): 5

Book Title: Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children
By Ransom Riggs

Jacob used to be fascinated by his grandfather's stories about a mythical island in Wales (the UK) that contained a children's home. But the children at this home weren't ordinary children. Everyone of them had a something peculiar about them. One boy had bees living inside him. Another little girl could float. And there was a boy who could lift boulders. As Jacob grew older his grandpa's stories became fiction until the day his grandpa was murdered by a monster. To figure out his grandpa's last words, Jacob and his farther go to the island that his grandpa talked about in Wales. From there Jacob's life takes a fasictating and terrifying turn. These peculiar children are still alive even though they died during World War 2. And these peculiar children are being hunted by monsters. And now Jacob finds out that he isn't who he though he was.

I enjoy this book VERY much. It kept you guessing right up until the end. Personally, I loved how the author not only spun a fantastic tale but the creepy and odd looking pictures added increased the brillience of this book.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed Goosebumps, doesn't mind seeing creepy pictures, and liked Harry Potter (i can't think of any other book to compare it to). Teenagers especailly would enjoy this book.

I have finished half of the book so far.

It is about Philippa. In the beginning, she doesn't know that she has a fairy godmother. She was making a flower for her friend,Charlotte, who was leaving. It is a hard thing to make and at the end you have to find a long piece of grass to finish it. Philippa didn't believe in fairies at her age, but her mom kept telling her stories. She put the piece of grass in a jar and she then opened the jar and threw it out the window of her tree house. She went back and found another piece to finish the flower. When she finished and gave it to her friend, the friend made her one too. Then Philippa finds that the there is a new girl in her class. She doesn't know its her fairy godmother yet until she she sees that the girl has a bruise on her arm and the fairy godmother had the same thing on her arm. Philippa was in class and Charlotte, her friend, had already left, and Daisy, the new girl, sat in Charlotte's seat next to Philippa. Her teacher told Philippa to show Charlotte around the school. Daisy pushed Philippa into the wall and Philippa asked why she did that. Daisy said "it's my job." Daisy got mad and told Philippa, even though she wasn't supposed to.

When she knows that Daisy is her fairy godmother, she finds her in her treehouse doing a spell. She sees that Daisy has wings on her back. Then Daisy turns and sees Philippa outside of the tree house and Philippa goes up to ask her what she's doing. Daisy gave her an envelope and Philippa didn't know what they were so she opened them and she has 3 wishes to wish for anything that she wants from Daisy. The next day, Philippa knows what she wants to wish for. Her parents embarrass her with their yellow truck and every weekend there's a party. She can stay up as late as she wants because her parents go to bed early. When she goes to school her dad is in his pajamas and went in the school to tell the teacher that it wasn't her fault that she was late. Everybody was talking about it during the day. Daisy wasn't. Daisy got embarrassed a lot too when she was at home. So Daisy didn't really talk to her a lot the rest of the afternoon. Daisy wants to get her job over with as soon as she can so she doesn't have to be Philippa's godmother.

I recommend this book to other people if they like fiction. I think it is a good book so I think other people would really really like it. I'll tell you more once I finish the book.

I like the Babysitters Club books. They're actually really good books. I haven't read them all. They're young teenagers who are babysitting other kids. They're friends too. They're are 4 of them. They make plans for what they're going to do the next day if they don't work the next day. I make a lot of connections to them because I like to babysit and I have with my mom. I've also dog sat with my sister. That was fun too.

I think other people should read them. I think they'll think they're good books.

Book: Nightlight
Author: The Harvard Lampoon (A penname I guess)
Is this book in a series? Which one? No, it's not. But I was it was
Summerary: As a Tw*l*ght parody, Belle Goose moves from Arizona, to a small town called Switchblade, Oregon. She is looking for a vampire to bite her and make her a vampire bride. When Belle finds the ONLY vampire in Switchblade, Edwart Mullen, she is on a mission. But Edwart is a computer nerd that hates girls, how will she EVER get him to bite her? This action, along with vampire prom, paper mache volcanoes, and window graffiti artists, is the wonderful book I called BETTER than any other vampire book around.
What you liked about the book (no spoilers please): It was really cheesy. It mocked the Tw*l*ght series. And I LOVED IT. They make Bella, the most annoying girl ever, Edward a computer nerd, and everyone else completely insane.
Recommended Age of Reader: It's an easy read, but little kids wouldn't get parts of it. So 11-12, or anyone who has read Tw*l*ght.

Then, they get wrapped up in the Secret Service themselves, having to face some tricky Mossad agents, Quest and Angela find more than what they bargained for.

Next in Philippa Fisher's Fairy Godsister the other fairy that controls Daisy came and told her that she was off the job.  She convinced her that she should stay.  She wanted to make Philippa happy because she was mad.  When they were in the tree house Daisy asked for a blanket for the treehouse and Philippa burst out yelling at Daisy because she was mad ever since she started at her school.  Philippa had to do her homework because her mom told her to, but her mom never would've told her if Daisy wouldn't have given her the wish for her parents to be normal like other parents.  Philippa liked the way her parents were before and she realized that her mom was planning where she was going to go to college and Philippa doesn't want to go there because that was where all the smart people go to college.  Philippa doesn't like Daisy still, but Daisy sort-of likes her.  Daisy started to like her after the fairy who controls her said you're off the job and Philippa still doesn't like her. After the whole week while Daisy was at school Philippa started to forget about Charlotte, her friend who moved.  Daisy was always late and usually got to school after attendance.  One day Daisy wasn't there after attendance and Philippa was worried about her because Philippa is responsible for her.

I like the characters because they act like they're not in 7th or 8th grade, they act like they're older.  I like the book because it tells more about the characters in the beginning than in other books that I've read.  You can picture it in your mind if you're reading like in the very beginning when Philippa saw Daisy grow wings out of her shoulder blades.  Philippa said they were the most beautiful wings she'd ever seen.

I think they're awesome too!  I haven't read the whole series.  I've read 1 through 5 and I think 3 is the best.  What's your favorite book?  Tell something about it.  I think 3 is the best because it is funny and has interesting words in it.  I like the series because they go in order.  You don't want to read 1 then skip to 3 then it makes no sense.

The girls do get bullied, mostly by boys, but some do get bullied by popular girls.  I like the book too.  It was funny.  The part that I didn't like is that the girls get bullied by the boys and popular girls.  I wish they'd all be friends.  Most book have good endings. I'd recommend the book to boys and girls that are 9 and up, maybe 8.

The Book Critic "Come to the Book Critic for great reviews!"

When it comes to books, I don't like the review to be "I liked it", "it was nice", and all of that. I like the answer to be straight forward and open minded so  don't have to waste my time reading a bad book or having someone critique using their taste. I will start to give you guys straight forward reviews so you guys can read a book that's worth a read.

Book- The Mysterious Benedict Society (1)
Author- Trenton Lee Stewart
Review- overall (all tastes)

I think this book is a very long read. With about 330 pages (or more), it takes very patient readers to read this book. This book is not a mystery. It is more like adventure. Another problem with this book is that you sometimes have to push yourself to continue reading in the middle, but then in the end it becomes interesting. This book is not your fast paced book. The plot carries on very slowly. If your not the "read every detail reader" then don't consider this book. It's about 75% details and 25% plot. Now moving on to the age groups:

By the vocabulary, and plot, I'd say this book could go for kids ages 8-14
.

Over all:

Adventure- ****
Mystery- ***
Good amount of pages- **

Read it?- If your the reader who can take a lot of time into one book and read a bit everyday, and the person who can sit and read details and think about the book, yes, I think you should read and get the book.

The Harvard Lampoon is a society at Harvard University that does parodies of things. They are kind of a comedy club. Conan Obrien used to be the head of it.

First of all i love all the book reviews people post.

One of my personal favorite book is The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin.
It was a class novel and I thought it would be boring, boy was I wrong.
Synopsis: 16 special picked people moved into Sunset Towers and are chosen to play a game in the will of Mr.Westing. If I say more it will spoil so I won't say more. READ THE BOOK!!
Reading Level: Grade 5-adults
Rating:5+
If anyone reads it tell me what you thought of it. thx

the name of the book is divergent
the author is named is i think veronica ross.
It ia a ficton book about this one girl who lives in whats called a faction. There are five factions. Faction are like neighborhoods. The names of the factions are... Abnegaition (the selfless) Dauntless (the brave) Erdite (the intelligent)  Amity (the peaceful) And Candor (the honest)
they have to make a desision between the  five factions. For beatrice AKA Tris it is (ross' quote from the book) the choice is between her familey and being who she wants to be.

Title: My Story: The Hunger -- An Irish Girl's Diary
Age: 9+
By: Carol Drinkwater
Genre: Historical Fiction
My Rating: 4/5 ****

(This is part of a whole series called 'My Story' books.)

This book was totally awesome! Well... it was very sad, it talked about the irish hunger... and the famine, I would rate this **** out of 5. 4/5.

Good Bits:
It was very emotional and moving for me, but it was also quite down to the action too.

Bad Bits:

Maybe Carol Drinkwater, could tell the reader a little bit more about the action.

Hi I'm blackvanilla3 and i came across this message and decided to reply to it.
-The book that i have is called: Sing Down to the Moon
-The author is a Newbery Medal Award winning author named: Scott O'Dell
-I dont believe that this book is on a series but he wrote other historical fiction books so...yeah.
-This book, unlike the other books that i like to read, is historical fiction...its about indians and i dont really like reading about indians but i gratefully took it from my grandma.
-I recommended this for +11 because there is a little bit of violence with detail
-I rate this to be about a:..4 yes a 4 out of 5
So that's my book review. Not much of a book review but it should work.(can't tell to much you'll just have to read it!)

Whoops! Sorry, I already posted a book recommendation before reading this. Oh well.
Is it okay if the book is not published by scholastic?
Book: Liesl and Po
Author: Lauren Oliver
Is this book in a series? Which one? No, it is not in a series.
What you liked about the book (no spoilers please): The writing was amazing, and it was a really nice story. Also, the illustrations are beautiful. It reminds me in a way of a fairy tale, but it is more complex and beautiful in many ways (obviously it is a novel).
Recommended Age of Reader: Any age; it is not inappropriate for younger readers, but it is not too easy for older kids.
Rating (1 is low, 5 is high): 5!!!!!!!
(I'm adding a catagory here)
Recommended to people who liked: Inkheart. Also, this book is REALLY similar to Peter and the Starcatchers. (one of my faves)
Hope you enjoy this book!

Book: When You Reach Me
Author: Rebecca Stead
Is this book in a series? Which one?
This book is not in a series.
What you liked about the book: I loved the mystery and the characters. I couldn't wait to finish the book, but when I finally did I was sad because it was such a good book! I wouldn't really be able to tell anyone a lot about it because if I said too much it would pretty much give it away. It's basically about a girl named Miranda who is getting strange messages from someone. She's trying to find out who this person is and what the messages mean.
Recommended Age of Reader: Probably 8-12 years of age, but I think almost anybody would like this story.
Rating (1 is low, 5 is high): I would give this book a 5!

I have the emotional range of a teaspoon, so I will not cry when it all ends. . . . . .
What am i saying?!
My dog is a dragon.((((((()
My letter will come someday! I just know it will! . . . . . .
It's just . . . . . lost in the mail.

Hey everyone! I'm going to be (trying to) writing a book review every week; I have a whole book of them that i write! So here's the first:

Book Title: The Emerald Atlas (Book one of The Atlas Series)
Author: John Stephens
Date Published: 2011
Date read: 5/13/11
My interest In This Book: I saw it at a bookstore and thought it looked interesting.
Message/Plot: On Christmas Eve, Kate's parents made her promise that she would protect her little brother and sister. She would not see her parents again for over a decade.
After years of moving from orphanage to orphanage, Kate, Michael and Emma dive into an adventure filled with magic, time-travel, dwarves, terrifying beasts, and a golden haired countess with her blood chilling minions, the Screeches, or morum cadi.
Favorite characters: I loved Dr. Pym, a wise old wizard, and Gabriel, who saves the children several times. Dr.Pym, with his bushy eyebrows, has been studying the Books of Beginning, including the Atlas, a magical time-traveling book, for centuries. Gabriel, an extremely brave and heroic man, first meets the kids while saving them from wolves.
I'd suggest this book to: Anyone 10+ who likes magic, and even kids who don't! It's a fantastic book!
                       Sincerely,
                                    NG1
